The study of the human form through life drawing enables an architect to understand how light and shade fall on surfaces and how one can transform this understanding of light in architecture. This understanding enables the architect to compose a building using depth and form to create aesthetical structures.
A passion of Russell’s has been life drawing for the past 20 years. He has studied at London Atelier of Representational Art studying cast drawings in the medium of charcoal.
He is a regular at Llanover Hall Arts centre in Cardiff and his drawings have been exhibited in various locations in South Wales and online.
